Air Canada baggage allowances are changing
for select markets

Air Canada is revising its baggage allowances for some fare options on select international markets.

These changes deliver clearer choices between fare options and give customers more value. 

New - Comfort Fares on Asia-Pacific: 
Comfort fares will be introduced on Asia-Pacific routes by January 21, 2025, providing customers with two complimentary checked bags. These fares are fully refundable and changeable – only fare differences apply to changes. On longer journeys, the comfort that an extra bag brings matters. With this fare option, customers choose the fare that best meets their needs.

Basic Economy: 
For Basic Economy tickets issued on or after January 21, 2025, checked baggage fees will apply for all bags on Asia and South Pacific markets, consistent with Air Canada's other international routes. 

Flex Fares: 
For Flex tickets issued on or after January 21, 2025, a second complimentary checked bag will be included on flights between Canada/U.S. and the Philippines.
  
Baggage allowance will also increase to two complimentary checked bags to the following destinations on tickets originating in Canada*: 

Algeria

Bangladesh

Iran

Jordan

Mauritius

Morocco

Pakistan

Saudi Arabia

Sri Lanka

Tunisia

Türkiye

*If the ticket issued to the above does not originate in Canada, only one checked bag remains complimentary.

For example:

Montreal-Algiers-Montreal - Flex fare – two complimentary checked bags  

Algiers-Montreal-Algiers - Flex fare – one complimentary checked bag
