New WestJet–Icelandair codeshare expands access to Europe via Reykjavik

WestJet and Icelandair have signed a reciprocal codeshare agreement that will provide travellers with expanded connectivity between Canada, Iceland and Europe. The agreement will allow guests to access a broader network of destinations through a single booking and ticket, along with through-checked baggage. Pending regulatory approval, WestJet guests will be able to connect to more than 10 destinations across Europe via Icelandair’s hub at Keflavík International Airport (KEF).

Later this month, WestJet will launch nonstop service to Keflavík from Edmonton and Winnipeg. The airline has also resumed seasonal summer service between Calgary and KEF for the 2026 summer season. These routes will be supported by the expanded codeshare partnership, providing onward connections to Icelandair’s European network.  

Porter launches nonstop service between Ottawa and Hamilton

Porter Airlines has launched new nonstop service between Ottawa International Airport and John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport, becoming the only airline to operate direct flights between the two cities.

The new route began operation on June 22, with twice-daily service aboard Porter’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft. All flights feature no middle seats, along with Porter’s signature onboard service that includes complimentary wine and beer served in glassware and premium snacks.

The flight schedule includes two daily departures in each direction (all times are local):

• Ottawa to Hamilton: 8:35 a.m. departure, arriving 9:43 a.m.; and 2:00 p.m. departure, arriving 3:08 p.m.
• Hamilton to Ottawa: 10:25 a.m. departure, arriving 11:39 a.m.; and 6:35 p.m. departure, arriving 7:49 p.m.

Porter is the only airline serving all three major airports in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area: Toronto City Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport and Hamilton International Airport.
